Operation Grindstop 2014: 14 Crew Arrested During Grind

During Operation Grindstop, Sea Shepherd was on constant patrol protecting Pilot Whales from brutal slaughter in the Faroe Islands. Only one grind was carried out during Sea Shepherd’s campaign, and our volunteers stood fast to the bitter end. Maggy Gschnitzer is one of 14 of our crewmembers arrested by the Danish Navy for interfering in the Grind. Maggy is hopeful that the tragic death of these 33 Pilot Whales will help the world wake up, and end the Grind.

Despite being a member nation of the European Union and subject to laws prohibiting the slaughter of cetaceans, Denmark has officially shown its support of — and now direct collaboration with — the Faroese whalers by sending the Danish Navy to defend this archaic, mass slaughter of whales in the Faroe Islands alongside Faroese police!

Revolutionary Socialist Media is fully supportive of the Sea Shepherds and stands in opposition to whale killers like those in Denmark. It is a huge shame that the Danish police is protecting those Faroese whalers against the brave fighters of Sea Shepherd. The video shows that the Kingdom of Denmark is protecting traditional Faroese whalers, although European laws prohibit the slaughter of cetaceans!!
